Bill Jones is a veteran, businessman, and respected member of the community, with the leadership skills and vision to represent the people of Georgia’s Sixth U.S. Congressional District. His strong commitment to hard work, service and family is evident in the challenges he has undertaken.

Bill Jones’ family has a long tradition of military service, going back to the Revolutionary War. After growing up on Air Force bases across the United States, Bill entered the U.S. Air Force Academy at age 17 during the closing days of the Vietnam War. He earned his pilot wings and flew missions across the globe in support of military and humanitarian operations. During his 21 years of service, Bill received numerous awards, including the Air Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. As a veteran, Bill has seen firsthand the dedication and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform. Providing real support for all — whether on active duty, in the Guard and Reserves, or as disabled veterans — will be one of his highest priorities in Congress.

If you’ve flown in and out of Atlanta, you’ve probably already been in Bill’s capable hands. During his 19-year career as a pilot for Delta Air Lines, Bill Jones served as a leader in management as well as in the pilot’s association making sure the skies are safe for both his passengers and for everyone who flies. He routinely demonstrated his ability to solve problems and make tough decisions, both in the cockpit and in the boardroom. Serving as Chairman of the Air Safety Committee, Bill spearheaded innovative passenger safety programs, even working with NASA to push for new national standards for handling smoke and fire on airliners. In 2002, Bill received the Leather Helmet Award, the Delta Air Line Pilots Association’s highest award for contributions to Airline Safety. Bill’s strong leadership background and steady hand will be vital in leading us through the challenges currently facing this country.

Since 2005, Bill Jones has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SA Technologies, a Marietta-based high technology business specializing in the management of complex information in the aviation, military & power systems industries. Drawing on an MBA in Finance from Kennesaw State University, he has guided the company through rapid growth, allowing the firm to quadruple its income and employ over 40 people in five states. Bill understands the economic, healthcare and regulatory challenges facing small businesses. He will bring this real world experience to Congress and ensure Washington is working for the 6th District.

The human devastation caused by Katrina served as a call to action for Bill to join ranks with the American Red Cross. Today, as an Assistant Captain, he leads a team of volunteers in responding around the clock to victims of fires, flood and tornados across Cobb and Cherokee Counties. Bill Jones understands the many aspects of disaster response, and will work to ensure Georgia is prepared for any disaster contingency.

Bill has been a resident of Cobb County for over 20 years and lives with his wife Mica. They have three college age daughters, Jessica, Tristan and Christine.
